From Crossroads Wiki
Minion is the primary code maker (and sometimes breaker!) of Crossroads MUSH. He took over the position from Tober, who did the really hard work of getting the initial set of globals up and running at the creation of the game, and holds onto his "head coder" status despite having far inferior skills to Lykos. (Truth is, Lykos makes him do all the dirty work and only writes cool, elegant stuff.)
Minion started his MU* career in 1993 on the world's oldest virtual world, MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) (then on CompuServe as British Legends) where he is known as Aquadyne the Wizard. Introduced by his fellow MUD/BL immortals to the larger world of internet gaming, he moved on to a Diku mud called Chaos Wastes and learned some of the best features of MUDs. However, he ran into the frustration of never being able to "win" the game... to achieve Immortality or some other goal... so he moved on with a group of those friends to a ROM mud, Land of the Lost Unicorn under the name Nebulous. The large and friendly player base there... and a finite, achievable goal of making "Hero" got him addicted. Two months later he became only the fourth player there to "hero" with a "remorted" character... and immediately became bored. Fortunately, another player was just starting a new MUD called Clandestine, and through a fortuitous accident (made immortal on a test port where he had submitted some new code, which ended up "sticking" in the main game) he became the primary coder (under the name Nebseni) and transitioned out of the player role into the coding role, creating many great new systems.
During his time on Clandestine, Minion met another player (a very creative builder) and the pair moved from game play to email correspondence to Real Life meetings to engagement, and finally marriage. (His lovely wife is known on Crossroads as the wonderful wiz Avalon). The pair were also lured from the MUD world into the MUSH world by another Clandestine player, who eventually would help start Crossroads as Amoret. The trio moved to Castle D'Image MUSH , where they met the wonderfully creative role players (and future Crossroads staffers) Loki, Diuturnal, Julie, Tober, and others. After several years as a player at CDI, Loki and Amoret started Crossroads MUSH and invited him to join, first as a player, and later calling on his coding skills to develop some of the game's unique code, including the much-beloved "walk to" command and +sky. He's also written a nifty HTML-to-TF interface, MUXweb.
Minion has had occasional stints on other games as both a player and a coder, but the wonderful community of Crossroads players always draws him back. Just don't let him get bored...
